Dr. Sarah Hensley

Dr. Sarah Hensley, known as “The Love Doc” and “The Dating Decoder” is one of the world’s foremost experts in the science of attachment and attraction. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Miami University (2004) Master of Science degree in Psychology (2007) and her Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology with concentrations in both Social and Health Psychology from the University of Kentucky (2010). After spending years teaching at the graduate level and directing a graduate training program in Clinical Psychology, Dr. Hensley found herself in her own personal attachment crisis: the death of her ex-husband, her mom’s cancer diagnosis and a painful breakup with an avoidant romantic partner. After spending years studying attachment science, Dr. Hensley was faced with the dire need to heal her own attachment traumas. The important lesson that knowledge doesn’t necessarily lead to healing was one she had to learn the hard way.

As a trained scientist, Dr. Hensley poured into the research of mindset work, emotional processing, and nervous system regulation which, through the practice of specific techniques in these areas, ultimately brought her into her own attachment security. After achieving her attachment security, Dr. Hensley met and married the love of her life, her husband Donald.

Dr. Hensley has risen to rapid fame after opening her own coaching practice called The Love Doc Relationship Coaching Services and quickly gathering over a million and a half social media followers. She is an accomplished speaker, researcher, teacher, podcaster, and coach. Her podcast called The Love Doc Podcast has quickly gained over a quarter of a million listeners in just six months and is expected to hit over a million listeners by the end of 2025. The podcast covers topic on all forms of relating, upleveling one’s life, personal healing, faith and growth perspectives.

As an accomplished coach, Dr. Hensley is known for her ability to fix dire relationship situations, even when therapy has previously failed or divorce has been filed. She offers evidence-based approaches to addressing attachment traumas which keep people stuck in failing relationship cycles, and step-by-step plans of action to see rapid positive changes in your relationship. She also helps singles address their problematic relationship patterns to set them up for secure and healthy love in the future.
